Countries included in the project are Zambia, Mozambique, Mauritania, Equatorial Guinea, Cuba and Chad. The project’s timeline is three years as of 28th September , 2024. The budget total for the project is $2, 475, 000 and Zambia’s allocation is $400,000.
The two day meeting is aimed at defining the strategic direction of the project, which prioritizes private sector engagement and aims to strengthen national capacities for transforming climate pledges into tangible, investable initiatives in the agri-food sector.
The workshop has brought together stakeholders from government ministries, private sector networks, development partners and relevant stakeholders to:
1. Identify national agri-food priorities for climate action;
2. Explore public-private collaboration models to mobilize finance;
3. Accelerate investment in agri-food climate solutions.
The workshop will provide introductory training for participants on agriculture related climate pledges and panel discussions on the roe of private sector actors in the sector. Additionally, a session on mapping and engagement of relevant private sector actors and strengthening modalities for public-private collaboration including focused work groups has been arranged.
